About the Motopsycho

Hello Everyone!

My name is Floyd Finch and I live in S.C.  For most of my life I have owned or ridden a motorcycle of one sort or the other. For a few years I actually made my living as a motorcyle dealership mechanic, and will still do some work on the side now for a select group of clients. Nowadays I’m a CAD detailer, designer, drafter etc. specialing in 3D work using Autocad & Solidworks. Like everyone else my two wheeled adventures started out on bicycles as a kid, but I put them aside to ride motorcycles for the next 30 years once I got my first motorcycle, a Kawasaki KD100 at the ripe old age of 12. Since then I have been through all matter of cycles, for several years I did not even own a car but rode around on a 750 Virago. My all time most mileage on a single motor is over 100,000 miles on a 1980 Honda CB750F. Today I own a mildly modified Ninja EX250, but am always on the lookout for that special deal on some vintage iron.  Hopefully I can find a really cool project one day and you can look over my shoulder as I work on it. Although I am no longer such a hard core rider, I am and always will be a diehard Kustomizer, it is my addiction, and there is no hope of recovery.

A few years ago I got back into bicycling as a form of therapy to help me recover from a broken leg. While I am no super long distance rider I do enjoy hitting the trails for a few miles on the weekend, or blasting down the sandy dirt road I live on in the afternoon just to blow off steam after sitting at a desk all day! Of course since I can never leave well enough alone I also began customizing bicycles as well, especially after finding the ratrodbikes.com community. For a while I lived in Wilmington N.C. and it is a fantastic town for bicycling, full of bike lanes and trails. I could ride to nearby pubs and resturants, and my wife and I really enjoyed riding to the riverfront area on the weekends. It was the closest thing to a six month vacation we’ve ever had. Even better still, where you had to share the road the people didn’t seem hell bent on killing you just for riding a bicycle like they do here in the Pee Dee region of S.C.
